Finally! I have found the perfect toothpaste tablets. I have tried a bunch, and I like these the best. My teeth are clean, my gums feel happy, and I like the lower intensity taste.

You have already tried to read the label.
Thirty ingredients, half of them eleven syllables long, and no honest way to tell which one matters. So you put it back on the shelf.
Dr. Ann Nguyen-Chung had the same problem, and she is a dentist. When a drugstore lip balm gave her a reaction, even she could not tell which ingredient caused it. So she started writing her own formulas.
Seven ingredients. Here they all are.
No fine print, no proprietary blend. This is the complete list in the peppermint tablets.
Xylitol
A plant-derived sweetener long used in oral care products.
Baking soda
The gentle, familiar cleaner from the bathroom cabinet.
Calcium phosphate
A mineral naturally found in tooth enamel.
Quillaja saponaria
A soap bark extract. It is what makes the tablet foam.
Calcium stearate
Holds the tablet together so it keeps its shape.
Mint extract
The clean, fresh finish at the end of brushing.
Stevia
A touch of plant sweetness. No sugar.
That is the entire list.
Nothing hiding behind "and other ingredients".
Chew. Brush. Smile.
If you can use a breath mint, you already know how to do this.
- 1
Chew one tablet
Chew it briefly, then start brushing. It foams up just like regular toothpaste.
- 2
Brush with a wet brush
Two minutes, morning and before bed, exactly as you already do.
- 3
Rinse and go
Same clean finish. No tube to squeeze, no cap rolling into the sink.
A healthier smile, simplified, in plain English.
Dr. Ann wrote the answers to the questions she hears most in the chair. It is education, not a sales pitch, and it is yours free with the bundle.

A dentist who got tired of not knowing what was in the tube.
Dr. Ann Nguyen-Chung spends her working days looking inside people's mouths. In 2020 a conventional lip balm gave her a reaction, and the ingredient list was so long that even she could not identify the culprit.
She started making her own from ingredients she recognized, handed them to friends, family and patients, and kept hearing the same thing: I have the same problem, I just gave up looking.
Everything Hippotanicals makes still answers one question: does this ingredient truly need to be here? Vegan and cruelty free, certified through PETA, in biodegradable packaging.

This is my first time using this type of product, and I am truly impressed. It is a high-quality product with a low environmental impact, which is exactly what I was looking for.
I love the convenience of just popping in a tablet and being able to brush my teeth. I enjoy not having to buy and throw away tubes of leftover toothpaste. I will be a customer for life.

This product is amazing! The light weight makes it so easy to make sure I am not applying too much pressure.
Great toothpaste tablets! I have been using them for several years with excellent dental checkups!
Very cinnamon flavored! Really enjoyed it and glad to have a good tablet for travel!

Great customer service! Ann was so responsive and helped me minimize packaging waste as much as possible.
Love the plant-based quality ingredients, non-plastic packaging, scents, ease of ordering, fast shipping, fair prices, and excellent customer service! Dr. Ann is so sweet and if you have an issue (which I rarely do) she responds quickly and fixes everything.

It smells like it is made from real ingredients rather than chemicals. The quality and the consistency feels great.

Hippotanicals is a small team, not a call center. If something arrives damaged, the flavor is not what you hoped, or you have a question, write in and you will get a human reply, often from Dr. Ann herself.
Questions, answered.
Do toothpaste tablets actually work?
Yes. You chew the tablet briefly, then brush with a wet toothbrush, and it foams up just like regular toothpaste. The cleaning comes from brushing, exactly as it always has. The tablet is simply toothpaste in a dry, solid form.
Is it difficult to use?
It takes about fifteen seconds to learn: chew, brush, rinse. Most people are past the unfamiliar first morning by day two.
What if I do not like the taste or texture?
The tablet is lightly sweetened with xylitol and stevia, and the foam comes from soap bark extract. If mint is not for you, choose cinnamon on the order form. And if it still is not right, write to us. We would rather hear it.
How long does the bundle last?
One tube holds 60 tablets, which is about one month brushing twice a day. The bamboo toothbrush is designed to be replaced every three to four months, and the floss roll is 33 yards. You can add a second tube at checkout if you would like two months of tablets.
Is the guide really free?
Yes. A Healthier Smile, Simplified is a 19-page PDF that sells for $19.99 on our website. With this bundle it is included free, and it arrives by email right after your order.
Is the guide medical advice?
No. It is general education written by a dentist, not individual care, and it does not replace an exam. Dr. Ann recommends taking questions about your own mouth to your own dentist, and the guide includes a list of questions to bring.
It costs more than supermarket toothpaste. Why?
Small batches, recognizable ingredients and plastic free packaging cost more than mass production. A tube of tablets works out at roughly 37 cents a day. If that trade is not worth it for you, we would honestly rather you kept your money.
Are the tablets fluoride free?
Yes. Fluoride is a personal decision and one worth discussing with your own dentist, and the guide explains the evidence on fluoride and nano-hydroxyapatite in plain language.
I have never heard of Hippotanicals. Who are you?
A small, woman owned California business founded in 2020 by Dr. Ann Nguyen-Chung, a practicing dentist. We are PETA certified vegan and cruelty free, have been featured by Yahoo Health, PETA, WGN Chicago, KRCR News and more, and our 356 Etsy reviews are public.
Is it suitable for the whole family?
The tablets are made for adults and older children who can chew and spit reliably. For younger children, or anyone with a dental condition or allergy history, check the full ingredient list with your own dentist first.
